The Bull at Newick
Newick is a village and civil parish in the Lewes District of East Sussex. It is on the A272, six miles east of Haywards Heath. Newick has three pubs (The Crown Inn, The Royal Oak and The Bull Inn), one restaurant (Newick Village Tandoori), two convenience stores, two estate agents, a car showroom with garage and fuel pump, a butcher and a bakery. There is also a primary school, a health centre, a village hall and a post office.

Newick holds its annual Bonfire Night celebration on the Saturday before Lewes Bonfire Night. Many of the local bonfire societies join the procession.

In 1934 Dirk Bogarde appeared in amateur dramatic productions in the village with Newick Amateur Dramatic Society (NADS), which still exists today with The NADYS, a youth sub-society.

Piers Morgan was born in Newick. He bought the other half of his parents’ Georgian Grade II-listed house. Every year he organises a game between a Morgan family team and the Newick side, which includes a famous "ringer" - 2008's ringer was England one-day captain Kevin Pietersen, which Piers described as "the best day of my life."
