East Sussex County Council (ESCC) is based at County Hall, St Anne's Crescent, Lewes, BN7 1UE. You can contact the council by telephone on 01273 481000.

Services provided by the County Council include education, libraries, social services, protecting the public, roads and transport, economic development, countywide planning and the environment and waste disposal.

Services provided by the borough and district councils include environmental health, tourism, leisure and amenities, planning permission, housing-needs services, collection of council tax and rubbish collection. There are five borough and district councils in East Sussex:

Reporting Faults

The county council and the borough and district councils have a centralised online facility for reporting faults. You can use it for reporting things like adandoned vehicles, street cleaning, fly tipping, dog bins and missed refuse collection, recycling and similar issues. Faults are then directed to the appropriate authority.
